Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner in Electro Shock

There are makeup products that I buy and feel somewhat impartial towards, and then there are makeup products that I feel like I would baby and treasure forever and ever.

This Maybelline liquid liner? It might have just earned its place in the latter category.

Because, I mean, just look at the beautiful blue hue:

If you're not a fan of electric blue as I am, you might be feeling like this liquid liner is not all that great but for me, it's a big winner. Priced at a mere RM 19.90? No contest, babes.

But is there ever a makeup product that is a perfect ten? Let's list down the good and the bad of Electro Shock:

The Good
  • GORGEOUS bright blue colour
  • Has just the right amount of glossiness to stand out
  • Thin brush, great for creating a flick
  • Stays on for hours after it dries up
  • BEAUTIFUL shade of blue wait this is the same as the first point, sorry
  • RM 19.90, which means it is totally AFFORDORABLE

The Bad
  • Liquid formula is a little wet; might irritate the eye a smidgen, and might bleed out a little as well
  • Thin brush isn't sturdy enough, a little difficult to get a clean straight line

I'm going to declare that the good massively outweigh the bad here, and that I am basically in love with Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner in Electro Shock right now.

The first time I used this liner, I applied it way too much and a little too close to my lashline which resulted in rapid blinking. The formula is really quite wet so to avoid irritating my eyes, I would make sure to wipe off some of the liquid formula on the inside of the tube before using next time.

I love the intensity of the colour and the full-on glossy effect makes the liner stand out beautifully, but at the same time it's not too bright or too out-there of a shade, making it wearable enough. A sturdier bristles on the brush would be preferred but it's a small issue for me; I haven't tried this out yet but I figured I could easily use a different small angled brush, rub that against Electro Shock's thin bristles and apply on my lid using the angled brush, as I would with a gel liner.

I'm seriously considering getting the gold and green liquid liner from the same range now, as I love this blue one so much. Plus, at RM 19.90, they're a definite steal.
