Purple Blazer & Red Pants | Van Gogh Exhibition In Pavillion Bukit Jalil

It's been almost one and a half years since my last post, but I'm not here to make myself feel bad about it, so I'm REALLY hoping no one else will attempt to do so either!I'm not entirely sure if blogging is still something I'd like to do. I used to love sharing my outfits and w…

Polka Dot Modern Baju Kurung & Chunky Platform Derby Shoes

I've always loved a good modern baju kurung so when I saw one that came in a polka dot (!) print, with strings along the sleeves that can be tied into little bows as accents, I just had to have it. Right from the get-go, I imagined the black and white polka dots with a vibrant red hijab. I feel …

Eid al-Fitr 2023 (Second) Outfit: Vibrant Green-Pink Gathered-Waist Maxi Dress

Alas, I didn't manage to photoshoot my Eid outfit on the first day of Syawal, but I do have some snaps of it on my Instagram, courtesy of my nephews and nieces! I wore this dainty lavender purple princessy dress that, truthfully, wasn't my first choice for Eid. but matched Shah's purple…

This Bold Purple-Blue & Orange maxi Dress

As much as I love colours, even I myself couldn't predict that I would one day own a floral maxi dress that combines deep purple-blue and orange — two such intense colours, together, in one dress!
At this stage, I'd say it's exciting to learn new things about myself. I love this colour c…

This Sweet Black Polka Dot Dress

Another dress that I've worn so many times since I brought it back home in 2019 but never did photograph again with my camera. On this day, though, I felt extra cute in it — probably because I bothered to put on a little makeup (plus red lipstick always feels fancy to me!) — so I asked Shah to …

Oversized Plaid Blazer & White Striped Wide-legged Pants

Writing the Rethinking This Whole Blogging Thing post sparked my old interest again, and I have now taken my Sony camera out for a few spins since then! (And my photographer, a.k.a. my husband, doesn't seem to mind being behind the camera again after the hiatus which is a plus.)I thought it was…

Shah's & My Umrah / Saudi Arabia Trip Outfits

Shah and I were lucky to spend about two weeks in Saudi Arabia where we had the best time performing umrah in Mekah, doing more ibadah in Madinah and exploring other cities like Jeddah, Riyadh and Al-Khobar.

The Colour Combo I Keep Going Back To: Reds & Pinks/Purples

There have been moments when I'm like oh that colour is pink, and someone would say "No...? It's purple...?". When I bought this dress I thought I'd be buying a red-pink dress but now that I've edited these photos, this dress is clearly purple now.

Sixth Time's The Charm (Or Maybe Not) | Floral Ruffle Dress & Crop Blazer

This has to be the dress I've styled the most here on my blog! This may be the sixth time you're seeing it on me in The Good Weekender but seriously, peeps, this dress has seen the light of day more times than I can count.

Green Polka Dot Drop Waist Dress + Rethinking This Whole Blogging Thing

In case my title is confusing: nope, not planning to quit blogging anytime soon.
If you've been visiting The Good Weekender for quite some time (thank you by the way! ❤❤❤) you might have noticed the posts have been embarrassingly sporadic lately.

Many of my favourite bloggers hit "slumps" like this from time to time — several seemed to never come out of one and quit blogging altogether too, sadly — so I know this is normal for anyone who owns a blog.

What I Wore For My Birthday Dinner: Floral Embroidery & Black Accents

A quick post to share what I wore for my birthday dinner last week: a very sweet, totally demure floral embroidered cream dress that is unlike me but for some reason I fell for it when I spotted it online. But ahhh OK I just had to offset the delicateness of it by adding a black chain bag and chunky black shoes that are a mix of loafers + derby.

Imma Take Your Grandpa's Style

This was taken months ago on a day when I didn't even plan to photograph my outfit, but as I passed by a reflective surface I took the opportunity to check my outfit out (you do this too, right? Righttt?) and decided "huh maybe this is worth shooting".

Considering all I ever wear when I go out lately is maxi dresses, I need to celebrate a day when I had actual JEANS on.

Sweet Red Floral Embroidery (Also, Remember My Mulan Bag?)

It's A-OK to reserve special dresses for special occasions, right?
That being said, I truly admire people whose motto is "live for the moment" and are able to wear whatever fancy garment they own to take a walk in the park or something, but ugh guys I just can't be one of these people, no matter how many blog posts I read about it. I want to be carefree and vivacious like those bloggers, but I just can't, unfortunately!

So me being me and unable to change that part about myself, I think it was fair enough that I saved this black dress with its sweet red floral embroidery for the longest time, for a special (cough *expensive* cough) dinner with Shah, I should think.
