Satin Jogger Pants

"Girls do not dress for boys. They dress for themselves and, of course, each other. If girls dressed for boys they'd just walk around naked at all times." - Betsey Johnson

These satin jogger pants, I feel, are a testament to Betsey's statement.

I bought these joggers ages ago, around late 2009-early 2010 when I was studying in Christchurch. I was already collecting scarves and hijab-appropriate clothing pieces back then, a good couple of years before I started donning the hijab myself.

I never felt sure about incorporating the satin jogger pants into an outfit so I've been wearing them as "house pants", resulting in them being slightly worn-out.

Then I saw this post New York - Day 1 by my favourite blogger Betty Autier of Le Blog De Betty, in which she looked picture-perfect and cool as anything in a pair of Topshop black joggers. I decided, it's time I put them on outside the confine of my house, and as I put them on for a night out with Shah, I feel satisfied with how my outfit turned out.

I don't dress for anyone but myself, but it's always important for me that Shah approves of my outfit—only because I'm that just kind of loving, dotting wife.
