Maroon-Red Satin Empire Waist Dress

It was raining heavily on the morning of Raya Haji Aidiladha this year but so many people braved through the rain and headed to the mosque anyway. The temperature dropped a little after the rain, which felt amazing, and on the day when most people wear fussy outfits that would be almost unbearable on a hot day, the cooling effect was very much welcomed.

Not that I worried too much about how the weather would turn out, as I had the most comfortable outfit on already.

I bought this dress at least two years ago but never got around to wearing it. I absolutely adore the rich red hue of the dress. The dress is pretty unusual: it has an empire waist and has these bell sleeves that go in at the elbow and flare out again.

It's quite unlike my taste but why not try something out of your comfort zone once in a while, right?
