Eyelet Trumpet Skirt & How To Not Dress 'Like A Lady'

I've decided that I don't know how to dress like "a lady".

Actually, no, it's not like I don't know, so to be more accurate I just don't want to.

I was rummaging through a rack of skirts and when my eyes rested on this one, my second thought after the first "MUST OBTAIN THIS" was: would it suit my modest dressing? It appeared more tea-length so I went one size up so that it would rest lower on my hips — and yesss length problem successfully taken care of! (Note: Trust me, this trick doesn't work for every single skirt out there.) The lining underneath was even shorter but nothing a good plain black skirt layered underneath can't do.

So now that the skirt sits pretty on me, what do I match it with? My inner sartorial compass' pointed to: an oversized "Food Mood" sweater. And a kitschy dice bag (love it or hate it well I LOVE IT) with peep toe booties. And fishnet socks, because look at how adorably matchy-matchy they are with the eyelets!

PS:  As much as I adore owning them booties (seen previously with flare jeans and ripped jeans), pretty darn sure you'll be seeing sneakers with this skirt next time...

I'm weirdly excited to experiment more with this skirt in the future — perhaps with a plain white shirt...? That being said, what would you dress up this skirt with?

I like your lady look Liyana! The fishnet self-interest match the tulle of the skirt set genius! I also think a cute pair of sneakers would be great. How about wearing one if your Disney sweaters with the skirt?

        1. Hi Judy! You know what, I discovered that one of the downsides of not blogging any new post was NOT getting your comment, so I was happy to see one from you for this one =)

I didn't realise how the fishnet matched the skirt so well until after I see the photos to be honest, so that was a nice surprise. And YESSS I just love the idea of a fun Disney sweater with a ladylike skirt. And sneakers to go with the pair, too!
