6 Ways To Style Colourful Statement Sneakers

If you didn't know that colourful statement sneakers could be as versatile as white sneakers — well, almost as versatile, let's not kid ourselves here — I'm going to try and prove it to you.

To be completely honest, when I first spotted these multitone sneakers years ago my thought was not along the lines of "Wow I could wear these so many ways."; it was more like "Oooh, the shimmer! The sequins! And all the GLITTER."

But in a nice turn of events, the sneakers got more uses than expected, and are still racking up more use. They're honestly one my most comfy sneaks ever; soft and cushiony, yet firm and sturdy. #notsponsored #iwish

I actually managed to style four distinctive outfits with these very same sneakers on one trip to Seoul, a feat that was much easier than I thought it would be! It led me to this conclusion: while I will always consider white sneakers the more functional choice, we should definitely not discredit multicoloured ones.

Here are the six of the ways I style my colourful statement sneakers:

1. Pair With Softer Neutral Colours

"Elementary", said he.
Arthur Conan Doyle wrote about Sherlock Holmes and not style, of course, but that line is absolutely applicable here.

2. Suit Up

Are there a lot of combinations cooler than suit + sneakers? Not that many, surely.

3. Go With Denim

Because classic pieces of denim can go with ANYTHING.

4. Pile On More Colours

I added extra colours by way of my clutch but I don't think I'd hesitate to colour-block my clothes next time with the shoes.

No one is here to tell you the colours have got to match either; go crazy and wear opposing colours on the colour wheel, because why not?

5. Combine Matching Hues

Confession: as much as I love to contrast colours and prints, it feels good to have things that just match, you know? The purples and blues of the shoes were nicely played up by my navy sweater with the burgundy hijab and sheer layer.

6. Juxtapose With Black and White

How else do colours pop even more? With black and/or white as their base, of course.

Bonus: Wear With Traditional Wear

Or more accurately, don't pass up the (surprising) opportunity to wear traditional wear (in my case in Seoul, the hanbok) when you're exploring a new city in your comfy sneakers — nevermind that more delicate footwear is more befitting!

Kidding! I don't know how you always look poised and sassy at the same time no matter what you wear. I love your vibe and when you do your colored looks, I'm always in awe! Happy weekday :D xoxo

    1. I am SO GLAD you like the new look Shanaz! And yes, I was told that my previous font was a bit small so I'm glad I changed that. I think there was a period when I thought the smaller font was more aesthetically pleasing or something...? I'm happy to get this kind of feedback because I would want to continually improve my blogging and the experience it provides.

Happy weekday to you too babe <3
