Pink Is Not A New Obsession

One of the things that I loved about being in Japan was the street style vibes there were always bouncing off of me, giving me inspirations to try out new things with the clothes that are already existing in my own closet. Pairing a baggy, loose something with an even baggier, more loose something was ubiquitous in Tokyo; the Japanese definitely have their very own shabby-boho trend, and I lavsss it. It fits perfectly with my modest style, but with that extra edge that adds a little sum'in sum'in.

I feel like now that I've been back in Malaysia for a while, I'm afraid I'll soon forget how they dress, and it's getting harder to play off those vibes that are thousands of miles away... What can I say, my closet and I miss Tokyo dreadfully.

FUCHSIA MUCHSIA?

By the way, that deep fuchsia Bao Bao? I am officially

Uhb. Sessed

Got it last year in Tokyo (my wedding anniversary present awww) and I finally got around to wearing it. Hoarding all the good stuff, as usual.

  1. Woman, I've worshipped My Miyake since I was 7 years old and to this day, do not own a single thing from the maestro!! I saw the Bao Bao on Poshmark, brand new and for a song, sadly it wasn't in Fuchsia, sigh. It would've been mine otherwise. I really love you, for your style and your bravado, in wearing pieces that the woman of the (Malaysian) street wouldn't even consider. And pulling them off with such panache too xoxo

    1. I can totally see how you're such a Miyake woman! Pretty sure you'd be way more Miyake-versed than I ever will be. But wait, the fact that you don't own anything Issey Miyake is a puzzler - is it because you just haven't met "the one"? I didn't think to own anything from them until I went to Japan and saw how ubiquitous Bao Bao was. What can I say, I'm a sucker. And their bags are really beautiful, too, not just the Bao Bao.

Anyway, I can't wait to see your first Miyake, I'm sure it'll be beautiful and totally worth the wait!

    1. Thank you for the compliment, Miera! I guess that's what an outfit can convey sometimes. Although, I'm not too sure how exactly positive and confident I really am so I guess it could also be misleading at the same time? Haha.

  7. I love pink too and have clothes and accessories in many different shades of pink. But sometimes, when I see older women in pink, it just feels funny. I hope I won't turn into those older women in pink. LOL

    1. I on the other hand don't own that much pink things in my closet, but sometimes the right pink can make all the difference. I actually think older women can rock pink too, when it's done right! So I'm sure we will all be just fine in pink, no matter how old we get =)
