Tea & Cake at China House, Penang

I finally had the chance to visit China House cafe in Penang - and yes, it took me this long to step foot in there, which is unbelievable because I go to Penang multiple times a year. This place is famous for its decor and charm and its huge selection of cakes, and, well, I'm into cakes, so it's right up my alley.

We didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked, as we arrived too near dinner time (we had Shah's mom's birthday dinner that night!), but I did allocate some space for a cake and some tea in my tummy - and I brought Lisa Eldridge's Face Paint book for some light reading. It was so hard choosing which cake to have but I settled on lemon poppy seed in the end, with Moroccan mint tea to go with it (weird combo? Perhaps, but I really wanted to try the mint tea).

Can't wait to go back there for more cakes!
(And maybe earlier next time too, because it was getting too dark to get good photos.)

I can't help but wonder how you se to be constantly traveling to someplace wonderful. Shah's profession must require a lot of travel. I envy your level of travel experience and cosmopolitan lifestyle!!

    1. Hi Judy!

Shah and I have been travelling a lot lesser now, but it's true, I do think I've been blessed with a lot of wonderful travelling opportunities! Shah is an engineer, and he's travelled overseas and still has to go to different states in Malaysia for his job - and I as a stay-at-home wife get to follow him once in a while! I'm very thankful for the position I am in, and I try to remember to say my thanks everyday. I'm not sure about cosmopolitan lifestyle - Shah and I are actually homebodies when we don't have to travel! - but I do like to be adventurous once in a while.

Where are you from, Judy? Do please tell me bits about yourself when (or if, of course) you comment again! <3
