Shah's & My Umrah / Saudi Arabia Trip Outfits

Shah and I were lucky to spend about two weeks in Saudi Arabia where we had the best time performing umrah in Mekah, doing more ibadah in Madinah and exploring other cities like Jeddah, Riyadh and Al-Khobar.

Photo Diary: Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill In Rome, Italy 2018

I found a folder titled "Italy" on my laptop and realised I took a whole load of photos on my Italy trip back in 2018 with the intention to share them here on the blog, but never got around to it — oop.
And oh my goodness, looking at them now makes me feel all sorts of wanderlust.

Photo Diary: Mekah/Makkah/Mecca

I am excited to share that Shah and I got a second opportunity to perform the umrah again in November last year, alhamdulillah! We went on a group tour package with an umrah visa in April 2019 but this time around we went with just the two of us on the tourist visa.
It was truly an experience to be able to make an umrah trip on our own, and on our own schedule!

Beach Baby At Tanjung Balau Beach, Desaru

Amazingly, I have relented on going to the beach almost every weekend now, considering how I've declared to not be a beach person in the past.
I suppose I can call myself a "beach baby" now — sand and hijab-tan-line and all, give 'em to me!

With beaches like this so nearby to my house, how can I not? The clean sands, clear water, blue skies... It's certainly a refreshing change from seeing tall buildings all around, growing up and living in an urban city.

Taking this blog back to 2019 for a little throwback!
(You know, 2019, as in the year BEFORE, except in actuality the virus came to be that very year towards its end, only we civilians were oh so blissfully unaware of its existence until early 2020).

I did a post on the outfit I wore in these photos here immediately afterwards (click here to see it: My Beetlejuice Pants Pair With Its Faithful Partner (Finally)) but for some reason I never got around to sharing photos I snapped from the mentioned exhibitions.

Better late than never, amirite?

Photo Diary: Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel & Hollywood Hotel Scenes

Staying at a Disneyland hotel had been a dream of mine and Shah's ever since we went on our first Disneyland trip in Paris. I remember walking towards the exit after an incredibly exciting and satisfying yet exhausting day and staring wistfully at the windows of the hotel above, wishing we could just go straight to a room, take a shower and lie down on the bed while talking about our day in the park, instead of riding a 50-minute packed train home.

Photo Diary: Hong Kong Disneyland Scenes

If there is one thing I would change about my trip to Hong Kong Disneyland in December last year (last year as in 2019 sorry my bad I know how late this post is, but better late than never!), it would be to bring a normal lens for my camera which would have been good to capture sceneries; I only carried my macro lens which I always use for my outfit photos.

Nevertheless, you know what really mattered in the end? I went to DISNEYLAND!
(Also, thank God for iPhone cameras.)

We headed straight to the hotel after arriving in Hong Kong in the afternoon and immediately got ready for our first day in the park. Hong Kong Disneyland is the smallest Disneyland so with a two-day park ticket in our hand, we didn't have to rush trying out every single ride we had our eyes on and had our most relaxing Disneyland trip ever. Well, as relaxing as a Disneyland trip could be, anyway.

Day 1

Jumpsuit to Boiler Suit | Casual Day Out In Sentosa Island, Singapore

How's it going, guys? It's been a while since I last updated my blog! Of course, a lot has happened since then, but I'm most excited to tell you about how Shah and I decided to commemorate our 10th marriage anniversary: we went to Hong Kong DISNEYLAND!
Not only did we go to the park, b…

Wanderlusting & An Important Travel Tip

Remember the time when I refused to get my photos taken, in PARIS AND ROME AND ALL THOSE WONDERFUL EUROPEAN CITIES, of all places?
Remember when I lived in New Zealand for four and a half years and never once went on a scenic trip voluntarily?
You may not remember but I absolutely do. I try to mak…

Photo Diary: Madinah/Medina

Shah and I went to perform the umrah recently but before doing so in Mecca, we made our way to the city of Medina, situated about five hours away.

I Was In Medina & Mecca

It was relatively last minute, too. Shah and I had dreamed of performing the umrah for a while and had hoped to perform it in the next few years or so, but when the surprising opportunity to perform it this very year came calling, we just had to answer it!
We have a saying that goes something lik…

Well, this was a delightful surprise: I was going through the Notes on my iPhone when I spotted this handy daily "what-to-wear" guide that I created for my Italy trip in September last year!

Trust me, this was the ONLY time I did this sort of thing; I'm more of a go-with-the-flow kin…
