Belted Hooded Duster & Black Stan Smith

While others are so getting ready for spring by storing their heavy-duty jackets and fishing out their pretty pastel-y things, I am back here in hot and humid summer-all-year-round Malaysia, busy editing my wintery Milan outfits in the comfort of my home workspace, wearing a t-shirt and shorts with the AC blasting (at a comfortable medium temperature).
PS: Also, I don't wear the hijab at home, you know.

Yep, I am not ready to let go of winter just yet, so expect to see a couple more winter outfits here (or maybe even five more) before you see any ol' regular outfits!

I have a habit of hoarding new things in my closet before I "unveil" them on a trip to somewhere special but honestly, I carried way more old things than new ones on this Italy trip, like this hooded duster coat. It is one of my prized possessions obtained from Tokyo back in November 2015 and I got so much wear out of it while I was in Japan.

See: The duster coat worn with all greys, a sweater dress and leopard-print ankle boots

I was pleased to bring it to Milan but I decided to style it in a way I never did before: belt it. Belting things really does give them a fresh breath of air, it's such an all-around reliable style trick. (Like how I did with this other duster, my striped black & white blazer and my fave varsity winter coat.)

By the way, if you don't know this, I love Adidas Stan Smiths  LOVE 'em. They're not only comfy but go with pretty much every outfit I ever wore. I just had to have a pair of black Stan Smiths in the cloud of white ones I own, but these are particularly extra cool to me because of the white base and the white part above the heel. (Shah refers to them as "football shoes" because of the laser-cut print on them  another detail that I love!)

Hope you like this outfit! Thanks for reading and I will be back with another winter outfit here soon ❤

    1. You have a real knack for doing a sophisticated casual look Liyana. I think that sweater coat is very classic! What's not to love about black tweedy and hoodie?? I also have a love of the laser cut in all manner of shoes and these Stan Smith's are especially cool! Love, Jude

      1. Thank you Judy!

I would love to see your collection of shoes one day, Judy! Actually, no, scratch that - your whole closet, really. I used to go to my friends' place and asked to see their closet. It's been a while since I peek at someone's closet!

    4. You are THE breath of fresh air! I cannot get over how chic this winter outfit is and I GET your love for those kicks. They're sooooooo amazing and I would so love to steal those from the screen but that would be so rude. I really love when you don your earrings like this. Something about it is just sassy and bold. I am excited to see more of your winter OOTDs and baju rumah OOTD is also cool with me, heheheh :D xoxoxo

      1. Oh man wouldn't that be amazing, if we were able to get something from the screen straight? I'd be stealing so many things! (It would probably involve your little basket bag by the way.)

I actually forgot to highlight my earrings in this post omg, I think because they're a little hidden in the photos (can't believe myself right now that I forgot) but I am so happy you noticed them! This was my first time wearing them, and now I'm looking forward to wearing them again even more!

I don't know about baju rumah OOTD, I always look like a messy freak at home to be honest, but it would certainly be a fresh breath of air in blogging wouldn't it? =D
