Melaka (& Its Pink Wall)

A couple of weeks ago I went to Melaka for an overnight trip. It was meant to be a quick one with Shah so I didn't put that much thought into packing (zero makeup, too), and I even left my camera at home. But we couldn't resist! Melaka, or Malacca City, has always been a favourite city of ours, with its tasty food and fun historical touristy places to visit. And the malls, of coursenever forget the malls. So we decided to spend a little extra time in the city after checking out from the hotel instead of embarking on the two-hour back home journey straightaway.

Our favourite asam pedas restaurant was closed so we went searching for a different one in the city, and stumbled upon this square with colourful blocks in it, which also included an all-pink hotel in a corner. Which has a pink wall. I need this pink wall in my hometown. But since that might not happen, I need to go back to Melaka in a cute outfit and bring my camera...

We went to Dataran Pahlawan Megamall (fave) and off to Jonker Walk (an even bigger fave; you can find my 2014 photo diary on Jonker right here), which is a night market full of things that you want but absolutely do not need. But there are a few exceptions, thougha few things that you do need to make your 2016 a better year than you could imagine, and they are cute cats and cute dogs printed pillow / purse / bag. You'll see what I mean when you scroll down.

We ended our trip with supper at Pak Putra which is this Indian restaurant with the best butter naan. The best, guys. Mmmmmmm. OK bye off to persuade Shah to leave for Melaka now.

OK, best things at Jonker Walk that you NEED:

I mean. OHMYGOD. Too much cuteness TOO MUCH CUTENESS.

I obviously took home a little something for myself, that isn't seen in photos above, but you might see it in a future outfit post, hopefully!

Hearts all around for Melaka <3

  1. I love love LOVE Melaka. When I was living in Singapore, it was the one place I'd go on a regular basis. The food. The ambience. And the people. That said, it's been over 10 years since my last trip and it certainly looks as though much has changed in that quaint place :) JEALOUS!!!

    1. The last time I went there was like a year ago, I think? Even in that relatively short amount of time, so much has changed! Next time you come back here DEFINITELY put Melaka on your to-visit list.
